Geocache Description:

The cache cotainer is at the "Namamugi Case memorial statue," or neighbor to the entrance of the Kirin Beer Yokohama factory.

In 1862, while an English man was riding a horse, he gets into a parade of Shimadu the King of Satsuma (current Kyuushuu) and killed by the Shimadu guardmen; the case is known as "the Namamugi Case."

The memorial monument is build at the place now, just next to the entrance of the Kirin Beer Yokohama factory. Kirin Beer started commercial brewery in 1870 (at the time not here but in Yamate).

The Namamugi case is the good example of misunderstanding of different culture, and the beer brewing is the good example of embracing a different culture. Another famous case is "Idogaya Case," at which the case occurred, another cache GC2V1ZF "Idogaya case ruins" is hidden.

The Kirin Yokohama factory produces the biggest amount of beer among Japan's Kirin beer factories (Japan's all beer factories maybe) on 2009. You can enjoy the visitors' course (free, better to reserve) and also fresh beer there, so better not to visit driving your car.

The cache container is a thin metal can.
