The first known example of "modern style" graffiti survives in
the ancient Greek city of Ephesus (in modern-day Turkey). Local
guides say it is an advertisement for prostitution. Located near a
mosaic and stone walkway, the graffiti shows a handprint that
vaguely resembles a heart, along with a footprint and a number.
This is believed to indicate that a brothel was nearby, with the
handprint symbolizing payment. I would rather count this as a case
in the history of signboards, but where to draw the line? Graffiti,
of course, keeps its shade of the illegal. Contemporary history of
graffiti begins with "tagging" in New York, that a gecacher would
probably identify as "logging". Among the most famous examples, you
could study the legends of "Kilroy was here" and a Greek guy
who worked as a courier: TAKI183.
To find the cache
you will have to assign the pictures to the correct coordinates.
You can start at any stage, there is no distinct order. The length
of the path depends on the choices you make, and some stages can be
a little long to walk: a bicycle could help.
