in our disclaimer.
Located at Waikawa Beach. Walk will take you through sand dunes and pine trees along the river’s edge taking approximately 30 minutes. There are a few steep short climbs but this depends on the path you take and can be avoided in most cases if required.
For Waikawa beach access, turn down Waikawa Beach Road which is just north of the Manakau Dairy on SH1. Travel to the very end until you reach the river. Walk across the bridge and follow the track to the right.
You can choose which path to the cache is best for you depending on ability or fitness. The main track will lead you to a clearing (large basin) which you can walk through in a northern direction and then head back into the pines and dunes when closer to cache. Or, you can walk directly through the pines and dunes keeping close to the river, there are various paths you can take through here or you can just make your own way to the cache.
Cache is a white 1.25 litre cylindrical plastic container.
