Magnetic micro cache in the heart of downtown Northport.
The cache is located in front of the Skidmore House. Built in 1761,
it's the oldest house still standing in Northport.
There's a parking lot (with parking meters) very close to the
cache, or you can park along Main St.
There should be no mystery as to where this cache is hidden.
The
idea of this hide is to bring people to what I think is one of
the
nicest "downtown's" on all of Long Island.
Take a stroll down Main St. and picture a simpler time when trolley
cars clanged their way through town, and shop-keepers swept the
sidewalks in front of their stores. Spend an afternoon visiting the
local merchants, stop in to one of the many fine restaurants for a
great meal, and take in a show at one of the best playhouses east
of Broadway.
