This geocache is part of the Enchanted Mountains GeoTrail
(EMGT)!
This trail is a project of Cattaraugus County Department
of
Economic Development, Planning and Tourism, and the Enchanted
Mountains Cattaraugus County. It has been developed to
encourage
visiting cachers and residents to explore the hidden parts of
Cattaraugus County as they travel the highways and byways of
the
Enchanted Mountains.
On the inside cover of each cache is a KEYWORD that you
will
need to record in your EMGT Leaflet. You can obtain your Town
wooden nickel by mailing your EMGT Leaflet to the department
listed
on it or by visiting the website at
http://enchantedmountains.com/geotrail.
PLEASE NOTE- The raod to the cache gets very muddy and
diffiicult to travel during certain times of the year. If you don't
have 4-wheel drive, you may wish to park at the semi-paved section
of the road and walk in. Also, at GZ you will need to use your
cunning to figure out how to retrieve the cache. You may wish to
bring a step stool with you. :o)
Raecher Hill State Forest is nestled in the Enchanted Mountains
of Cattaraugus
Valley in the town of Great Valley. Unfortunatly there has been
clearcutting
logging going on here and the forest in areas is starting to
recover. On the
opposite side of the forest from the cache there were signs of more
logging
starting.
As you enter the woods of this state forest, enjoy the beauty of
the trees
and listen for the many songbirds that reside here.
Enjoy your visit.
