This is another of my caches placed along the Stourbridge Canal.
The Dock is a very interesting area where the local pubs provided refreshment and stabling for the boatmen and thier horses, along with a smithy and general store and an original, wooden, trans-shipment shed, sheltering the wharf where corn, seed and hops from nearby mills were loaded onto boats. From here you have a good view of a large bottle shaped glass kiln known as the Red House Cone which was built in 1790 and is the only one of its kind remaining in the country and is now the home of a glass museum and well worth a visit. Great stealth is required as this is a HIGH MUGGLE AREA. For a quick cache n dash, park in The Poplars and walk a short distance to the Dock.
