The cache is hidden in Millom Rock Park reachable by track and path. It is best to park in a small parking area just off the minor road to School Ellis, approximately 1 kilometre from the turn off at The Hill just outside Millom.
Go through the kissing gate and straight ahead along the track ignoring the uphill signed footpath just after the gate. Go straight ahead where the track swings sharply right aiming for a large iron gate on the skyline ahead. Ignore another track on the left. When you reach the large iron gate you will find it locked but left are two smaller gates. A stone bears the label Millom Rock Park. Go through the small gate.
When you find the cache, please make certain the lid pops back on securely right round, as the contents keep getting wet because the lid has not been put back on properly.
Opened during Easter 2010, Millom Rock Park provides a superb view over a working quarry which once was the heart of a volcano covering most of the Lake District. the quarried rock is crushed and graded then mainly used for surfacing roads and airport runways as its 'gripping' qualities are ideal for this purpose. A walk along the informative 'Rock Street' where huge samples of rock from Cumbria are exhibited adds to the interest of the visit. Visitors are requested to stay within the fenced area of the Rock Park and not be tempted to venture through the signed, locked gates which give access to the quarry itself. The Rock Park is always open unless blasting operations are in process when there will be a warning at the car park area.
