Red River Rock Cache
This cache
is located in the southern desert area of Qatar near the Coast
Guard Station at the southern tip of the Inland Sea. This is an
interesting area as it is a rocky outcrop in the middle of miles
and miles of sand dunes. The rocks are dolomitic limestone and are
rich in small fossil material. At trip to this area is a must for
anybody venturing this far south.
In order to
get to this area a 4x4 vehicle is essential. It is highly
recommended that you never travel alone in the desert and always
take all the necessary precautions such as sufficient water,
recovery ropes, shovels, etc.
