Rankin House #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balm: The tree line where this was hidden has been bulldozed to make room for a new parking lot. Soon I will find another location and rename the cache. Thanks to all.

Geocache Description:

John Rankin was a Presbyterian minister and educator who devoted much of his life to the antislavery movement. In 1826 he published his antislavery book, Letters on American Slavery. In 1834 he founded the Ohio Anti-Slavery Society in Zanesville. From 1822 to 1863, Rankin and his family, along with their Brown County neighbors, sheltered over 2,000 escaping slaves.
