Geocache Description:

Overgrown, defunct road which once led to Whiting street reservoir and mountain park.

Very interesting spot with possibly some historical significance. I found this area while exploring with my son about ten years ago. Cool place for a cache. Evidence of old landscaping, stone ruins including a small staircase, little bridges over a stream, and paved road leading westward toward the reservoir. Cache is a snap lock container with log book and small items. After locating the cache, continue walking up the old road to where it is abruptly cut off by I-91. Old pipe railings can still be seen along the way although most have fallen down over the years. I wish I could find a link to some old photos of this place to get a better idea of what it looked like in its heyday.
