Geocache Description:

Take Ye Heed, Watch and Pray: For Ye know not when they time is. Mark XIII.33

These are the words upon the tablet that covers Hugh Proby's grave.

Hugh Proby was the wealthy son of the Earl of Carysfort. He came to Australia from Ireland and looked to own pastrol land.

Unfortunatly one stormy night, his cattle began to stampede. While trying to control the cattle he attempted to cross the raging Willochra creek. This proved to be a tragic decision as Proby was swept from his horse to his death. His body found down the creek the next day. He was 24.

Six years after his burial. His brothers and sister shipped out the granite tablet that lies over his grave from Scotland to Pt Adelaide, the transported by bullock to his grave.

There is more information about Hugh Proby's story found at the grave.
