Geocache Description:

All Saint's

The original medieval church of All Saints stood amid low lying fields close to the source of the Thames. The area was subject to damp, which helps explain why the church was moved here to higher ground in 1896, leaving behind only the chancel of the original church. The original site is home to The Wombles' Lonely Church cache GCM7XG.

The core of the building dates from the 13th century, with some 15th century additions. The walls are lined with 17th century paintings of Biblical texts in ebullient Baroque style. Leigh church is cared for by the Churches Conservaton Trust and is usually open.
