Geocache Description:

When planning a walk in this area I was surprised to see there were no caches hereabouts so decided to place one while doing the walk. Don't be put off; its easier to unravel than it looks. I must acknowledge that I took the idea from BBC Ovingham which I solved recently.

The co-ordinates given mark the start of the walk. Here you will find three pairs of figures on a pole. Note added 11/5/18: As the pole seems to have disappeared these numbers are 12 13 03. Note them down as A to F. The next point is N54 30.D*F, D-B, A+C W002 18.A+B+D, D+E+F, B*A. Here you will find a post with footpath signs on it; how many? - G. The next point is N54 30.G+F-B, G-D-B, G-A W002 18.A+D+F, G/B, G-D. Here you will find another three pairs of numbers - H to M. The next point is N54 30.M+I, L+M, K/H W002 18.H-J, G+I, B+G-J. Here you will find a square notice. Count the number of times each vowel appears and note as N to R. The next point is N54 30.N-Q, O+P, N+R-B, W002 18.O/H, Q-R, G-R. From here you should be able to see three hard numbers in three different places; list them in ascending order as S, T and U. The final location is N 54 30.(U+G)/Q, (N+S+F)/J, (T+K+N)*P, W002 18.T-K+G, S*E+I, (T*F-D)/H. Locals with a passing knowledge of Viking mythology may well be able to go straight to the cache site but they will miss a lovely walk. Others may find that reading the relevant chapter in Ron Scholes' book 'Walking in Eden' before setting off is useful.
