Geocache Description:

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we'll continue that journey into the next century.

Action! Boy Scouts: The Boy Scout program in the US began in 1910 and currently is open to boys ages 11-18. Boys learn and grow through the experiences of camping, hiking, building projects, and community service. Scouting fosters self-esteem, a sense of value and belonging, a sense of accountability, and teamwork. It’s also a lot of fun! The skills learned in Scouting help young men overcome obstacles and challenges with courage and character throughout their lives. Geocaching offers a new opportunity for the Boy Scouts to experience the outdoors while honing their Scouting skills. This cache is placed in honor of all young people in hopes that they will also take this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

You are looking for a small locking container hidden in Eisenhower Park. Please trade items and return cache back to its hiding place. This park is the centerpiece of the Nassau County park system. Back in 1993 and again in 2000, the park hosted a Nassau-Suffolk Jamboree that was attended by scouts from all over Long Island. In 2010 There was a Nassau County Jamboree and in 2017 there was a Centennial Jubilee to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in Nassau County!
