Multi-Cache located along the Great Central Railway line picking up clues along the way.
Voted number 12 on the list of the 50 greatest railway journeys in the world the Great Central Railway is the UK's only double track, main line heritage railway. It’s the only place in the world where full size steam engines can be seen passing each other – just as it was when steam ruled the rails.
Trains run every weekend of the year, bank holidays and daily in the summer. In addition, First Class Restaurant Car Services provide 4 or 6 course meals, whilst travelling between Loughborough and Leicester.
Each clue is at one of the stations, starting at the Leicester end and running through to Loughborough. It is up to you whether you take the (approximate) 12 mile car journey or enjoy the more interesting, and more relaxing, train journey.
If you decide to take the train, do not worry about missing it whilst looking for clues as you can get an "All Line Day Runabout" (on non-special event days) giving you unlimited usage for the day.
To solve this puzzle:-
Begin at Leicester North Station (N52° 40.071"/W001° 07.996")
CLUE = Booking Office Talking Tour Number (this will give you AB)
Travel to Rothley Station (N52° 42.273"/W001° 09.573")
CLUE = How many arches are in the mini Viaduct? (this will give you C)
Travel to Quorn Station (N52° 44.358"/W001° 11.232")
CLUE = How many shapes do Spillers make? (this will give you D)
Travel to Loughborough Station (N52° 46.118"/W001° 11.742")
CLUE = What year was the Booking Office built? (this will give you EFGH respectively)
Finally walk to the final cache location which is situated at:-
N52° 46.UVW"
W001° 11.XYZ"
The solution to these coordinates are:-
U = C - D
V = A - B + 1
W = C - D
X = D
Y = (E + F) ÷ G + H - 1
Z = B x 2
Please put cache back as found in the camo provided, thank you
