Geocache Description:

Located near Stockton's Infinity footbridge.

A magentic nano near the award winning Infinity Bridge which connects the developed South shore with the to be developed North Shore. The bridge itself was opened 14th May 2009 and is built from 450 tonnes of Corus steel. Its name was decided locally as the design is such that when it two arches are reflected in the Tees it forms the mathematical symbol for infinity. The bridge is lit up at night and the light is programmed to respond to the presence of people. The blue and white LED units under the handrail sense when people cross the bridge and the changing light follows people across. The views from the North end look across the Tees Barrage to Roseberry Topping. This part of the Tees is also home to watersports, indeed a water-ski competition was in progress when we placed the cache. The Northern shore has someway to catch up in terms of development, however the bridge is seen as a catalyst to this and this has now started. There is roadside parking at both ends, whilst the bridge itself forms part of a number of cycle routes. May need a slim tool to help extraction (small key worked for me), please orientate in the same way to aid stickability.
