Geocache Description:

The cache is in what is now a car-park/picnic site but which was once Leadburn Station. The cache is a micro (film cannister) and contains only a log-sheet and a small pencil.

Leadburn was a station on the Peebles Railway which ran from Edinburgh to Peebles and onto Galashiels, opening for service on 4 July 1855 and closing to passengers on 7 March 1955. The station was also a junction for the Leadburn, Linton and Dolphinton Railway which operated between 1862 and 1933. The station had two platforms plus a platform for the branch line. The platforms are still very much in existence.
