After the success of our previous series of caches in Sandwell Valley, we thought it would be a good idea to set up a series in Brum. As you may know Birmingham is made up of small districts known as Quarters, so we came up with a plan to place a cache in each quarter:
The Jewellery Quarter
The Gun Quarter
The Irish Quarter
The Chinese Quarter
The Convention Quarter
The Millennium Quarter
The Business Quarter
The Jewellery Quarter
For over 200 years Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter has been the home of some of the world’s most highly skilled goldsmiths and jewellery makers.
The advent of shops opening to the public is a recent phenomenon, with the majority of retail outlets springing up since the 1970's and now the area is widely known as a place for both the trade and public to browse and buy the finest products at the keenest prices.
The Jewellery Quarter is Birmingham's Historic and Vibrant Gem. With 100's of jewellery retailers and designers it is the UK's centre for Jewellery. There is so much more than Jewellery, you’ll also find a great choice of some of Birmingham's best Art Galleries, Museums, Restaurants and Bars.
The cache is a micro (slightly larger than a 35mm film container) and is placed in the heart of the jewellery quarter. There is only a log inside the container, so please bring a pen with you. We have tried to ensure that the co-ords are as accurate as possible, if you find them to be different to the ones listed then please let us know. Please re-hide the cache carefully to avoid it getting muggled.
