The Lightning Tree Traditional Cache
DebbieB21: We have retrieved and archived this series of caches. Although we still think it is a lovely area to walk the latter half of the track has become very overgrown. Thanks to everyone who found our caches, we will relocate them soon.

This cache is the third of the Lightening series set in the lovely Raleigh Woods next to the River Yeo.
It's also the sight of an ancient Packhorse Bridge. The ancient bridge forms part of an old route from Goodleigh to Shirwell, and fell into disuse by the early 1800s, by which time the Barnstaple Turnpike Trust had built new roads to most local settlements. The bridge itself likely dates from the 16/17th Century.
The cache isn’t on the river bank – please don’t put yourselves in danger.
Return via the East path – this area is carpeted in Bluebells during April & May. The path can be a little indistinct and overgrown in places, but stay above the river level (see waypoint) and the track will eventually double back on itself leading you to the original footpath.
The cache is a small clip-lock box and when placed contained:
Logbook/pencil/sharpener
Multi-coloured comb
Fridge Magnet
Picture Frame
Spring Clip
Hairband
Car Shaped Rubber &
Garmin UK - London Eye Geocoin
