Oak Grove Cemetery is located in Becker County and Detroit Township. It was established 24 April 1874 with approx. 40 acres. The Becker County Genealogical Society provides an alternative name for this cemetery as Parke; however, there was no other source that confirmed the use of this alternative name. Please follow all cemetery rules posted at the gates.
The listed coordinates will bring you to the starting point of this cache series. From here, answer the questions to each of the next stages to find the final cache. Bring your thinking cap, paper, pencil, calculator, whatever you need as there is plenty of easy math to do. The physical cache is located nearby. The stages for this series will bring you kitty corner across the cemetery and back again. You can walk or drive to the stages, roughly a ¾ mile easy walk with lots of interesting history in between. Driving this series should only take you about 20 - 30 minutes to solve this mystery. There are hints listed to assist you in getting the correct markers throughout the stages. You will have to figure them out also. Once close to a marker the hints should be self explanatory. Please RESPECT any services taking place. “Minnesota SPIRIT QUEST” The MnSQ is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us. There are hundreds of cemeteries in the communities and rural areas across Minnesota. This series will introduce you to our second of hopefully many. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones. NIGHT CACHING – Visiting MnSQ cemeteries from Dusk to Dawn is forbidden and we note that on the cache page. We delete find logs that indicate night caching. We disturb nothing, trash out non-decorative items and do not move or take rubbings of tombstones. We strictly obey all posted cemetery regulations.
