Trees of Alabama Series: Sparkleberry -
(Vaccinium arboreum). North America's largest blueberry, sparkleberry is a picturesque little tree or large shrub with flaking reddish bark, a leaning crooked trunk, and twisted contorted branches. Diciduous hardwood found growing in the sub-canopy of the forest in most regions of Alabama and commonly along a bluff or slope such as where this tree is found growing. The cache is a camoed pill bottle attached to the tree. The tree had tiny white flowers when the cache was placed. There is a picture of a Sparkleberry Tree in bloom on the cache log. Please return cache as found.
