Geocache Description:

Road leading up to a short trail to this cache. At about the 11 board on the Ditch Road is where the access road turns off. This road is a bit rough - definitely not a car friendly stretch. There has been a lot of witner damage with trees and branches leaning across the road. If you're okay with your truck getting a little scraped by brush then you can drive right to the trail head. Otherwise, quad or walk the 1.2 km from the junction of the Ditch Road.

This cache is located near the Stone Oven. During the Cariboo Goldrush days, this was the site of a camp for workers who were building the "ditch" that ran from Polley Lake to the Bullion Pit. It supplied the water for the hydraulic mining system that was used at the Bullion Pit. The oven is a Chinese stone oven from the 1890's.

The satellite reception is pretty poor due to the thick canopy of mature trees near the cache.
