3, 2, 1: Green Stamps Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Jeff60523: The original host (a lamp post) has been removed. That isn't the real issue though; the building has been leased and there is a lot of truck traffic back there without any place to park or hiding spots that aren't in full view of the offices in close proximity.

Thanks for all the fun logs along the way.

Geocache Description:

The area is bounded by 3 States to the West (the 'TRI-State Tollway' or I-294), 2 Presidents ('Ronald Reagan' or I-88 to the South and 'Dwight D. Eisenhower' or I-290 to the Northeast) and 1 "DairyPrairie" to the North (Butterfield Road).

It's a drive-up, if you know where to drive. ABSOLUTELY NOT accessible from any Interstate!

This property was originally the home of Sperry & Hutchinson Company, creators of the S&H Green Stamps. S&H was one of the first consumer loyalty companies in the world having been established over 100 years ago. Today they are doing business as "YOU Technology". According to them, in the 1960's, the S&H catalog became the largest publication in the country and S&H printed three times as many stamps as the U.S. Post Office. If you want more information on the history, see the "related web page" link above.

Pretty typical hide (with a minor twist).

I'm pretty sure my dad got our first Weber kettle grill from the S&H catalog. Let me know if you have any favorite S&H stories!
