Geocache Description:

Near Bright and Glory Lakes

This cache is one of 10 placed along the Koppa Bicycle/Walking Trail from near the southern end of the Grayling Airport to Hartwick Pines State Park. It was placed for several reasons: 1)To encourage more use of the trail 2)To promote exercise 3)For the enjoyment of geocachers , and 4)To show that small and regular sized containers can still be hidden.
The perfect way to seek these caches would be on your bike or on foot while actually using the trail, BUT they can also be accessed from your car by parking alongside the road. Extra credit given to those who complete the series on their bikes or on foot. All 10 of the containers are either regular or small in size, (no micros) and are placed within a reasonable distance from the trail. The difficulty ratings are between 1-3 and the terrain ratings between 1.5-2.5. Of course, the terrain ratings are higher if you walk or bike. Those with geo-experience or knowledge of our hiding methods will have an edge in finding some of the caches.
There will also be a REWARD cache that one can collect by finding all 10 of the containers and recording the #s on either the inside lid or the cover of the logbooks. The activation of these caches will be spaced out over a period of a few weeks to build suspense and to lessen the possibility of one cacher, or team, collecting all of the FTFs.

If you look closely through the trees to the NW, and if the leaves aren’t too thick, you will have a nice scenic view of Glory Lake. Take the drive just to the West and get a closer look and take a peek at Bright Lake as well. A State Park Vehicle Permit Sticker is required if you drive in, but NOT if you bike or hike. Please handle this cache carefully and replace it exactly as found to preserve the experience for future seekers. If you are planning to seek the Reward cache, remember to record and save the # on the lid or cover of the logbook. Enjoy the trail and this series.
