Between a Park and a Dene Traditional Cache

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.

Geocache Description:


The eastern edge of the ward splits the green space at Iris Brickfield while the south west of the ward borders Jesmond Dene, Armstrong Park and Heaton Park. Heaton Park was formed after Newcastle City Council purchased part of the Heaton Hall estate in 1887. The same year Sir William Armstrong donated a large area of adjacent land, which became Armstrong Park. In 1883 Armstrong offered Jesmond Dene, the landscaped grounds to his house, to Newcastle City and this was incorporated with Armstrong Park.

The cache is a small tupperwear container which has a small log, pencil and some swappable items and is also capable of holding some small trackables. A good GPS siginal is difficult with all the high trees but the Google earth coordinates are accurate. Use the clue if you get stuck!
