Where does this trail go? (399A to 399B)
The coordinates of this cache may look like they
are on the CA-1 freeway right of way.
THEY ARE NOT!!
DO NOT park, walk or bike on the freeway right of
way!
(It is illegal, dangerous and not the best way to get to this
cache!!)
Instead, take the Munras exit (399B), cross under CA1 on Soledad,
turn rignt on Viejo Rd. and proceed to the Trail Head
coordinates.
The trail is a bypass for bicyclists and hikers going along the
Pacific coast to get between the non-freeway CA-1 near Carmel and
further south and the Recreational trail along the shore in
downtown Monterey without riding on the freeway. It is a nice (but
short) walk or bike through the woods. The other end of the trail
is on the overpass of CA-68 over CA-1 (399A).
The cache is (hopefully) well camouflaged, but is within reach if
you are standing on the trail. Enjoy the walk or bike ride.
