This cache has been placed by the nearest Trig point to Dundonald ( trig number BM S4304 ). The co-ordinates are for the trig point, an OS map and compass when at the trig point may be an asset to locating the cache. On clear days there are panoramic views over Ayrshire and beyond. This cache is not recommended for unaccompanied children, due to the country road being busy at times.
This route is a round trip of approximately 1 1/2 hours, depending on fitness levels.
Park in the village of Dundonald, by the church and follow the road to Loans over Dundonald hill. This road can be busy at times, with no paths the highway code for pedestrians should be adhered to.
Firstly walk to waypoint 1 ( N55 33.773 W004 36.300 ), THERE IS NO PARKING AVAILABLE AT THIS LOCATION. Leave the road at this point and follow the farm road for approximately 200ft, over the gate and follow the trig co-ordinates to the trig point.
When at the trig point, use map and compass to take a bearing of 15 degrees and walk for 44ft to find the cache.

A shorter route is available by parking at N55 39.200 W004 40.750, There is room for one car only and you will still need to walk a short distance on the country road to waypoint 1.
