The cache is a small, clear lock and lock container. Please be sure to completely rehide cache as you found it. Although the cache is somewhat undercover, there will be muggles walking by (less in the summer) and possibly looking out windows at you!
The idea for this cache is to bring you to an area of Winthrop University’s campus that is always changing. Not because of construction, but because of artists - many of whom are students who create large outdoor art and design projects for class assignments. After you find the cache, be sure to look around at both the permanent as well as ever-changing public art Winthrop has on display.
Please be advised that materials with religious, political and social agendas will be removed from the cache. I don't feel that is an appropriate use of geocaching. Let's keep it enjoyable for all!
Founded in 1886, Winthrop University (www.winthrop.edu) is a public, coeducational, comprehensive teaching university that teaches students to Live, Learn, and Lead. Winthrop’s Main Campus, located on two sides of Oakland Ave., contains most of the educational and residential buildings, while “The Farm” area located off of Eden Terrace, contains Athletic and recreational facilities. Winthrop welcomes geocachers but any disturbance or interference with the educational focus of the institution will result in the cacher being asked to leave the premise. Visitors to the campus must follow all traffic regulations and park only in those areas identified as Visitor Parking, or drivers may be ticketed and cars towed. You will find visitor parking in front of the white fountain, but evening and weekends you can park in any legal space without a problem.
