Towelie is a blue talking beach towel whose first appearance was
in episode # 73, of the comedy cartoon "South Park".
Towelie has only one claim to fame.
His willingness to offer towel advice:
"Don't forget
to bring a towel!
Yet, even with these social limitations, Towelie has become a
cult phenominum.

May 25th is International Towel Day!
This cache was hidden on May 11th, 2010, the 9th anniversary of the
death of famed English writer Douglas Adams, who brought us "The
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". The date for International Towel
Day was proposed as being two weeks following Douglas' untimely
death. How does Douglas Adams rate having International Towel Day
created in his honor?
This paragraph, from the aforementioned book, should explain
it:
A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing
an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical
value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across
the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant
marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea
vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so
redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft
down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in
hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious
fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal
(such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't
see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies
as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it
still seems to be clean enough.
So, grab your towel, hop in your kayak and go find this ammo
can! Alligators and venomous snakes are frequent residents in this
creek. Do not attempt this cache unless you are ready, willing and
able to survive encounters with them unscathed. Should you find
yourself out of your boat, getting back in is a real chore, as the
nearby banks are very deep with silt. Just something you might
wanna plan for.
