Honoring Those Before Us-Part 3 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

naholc: Archiving all of these as I have moved recently and cannot find anyone to take over maintenance. I kept this open long enough that I hope everyone has had the chance to log their visit.

Geocache Description:

A puzzle type geocache in a local cemetery. Third in a series of puzzle caches. I was actually out doing the Bike Trail caches and stumbled upon this cemetery and decided to put one here. This is a small area, so this is a pretty easy find.

This one requires use of the old "grey matter" rather than the GPS. The listed coordinates get you only to the first marker I used inside a small local cemetery.

Once at the spot you have to follow the clues provided below to find the final cache. If you get totally lost and would like a hint for a particular step, feel free to email me and I'll help you. You are looking for a small, bison tube micro cache.

For clarification when I say facing the stone I mean looking at the side of the stone or marker with the names and dates; at your back would be this same side of the stone facing your back. Fragments of a sentence in quotes are clues to the name on the marker. While I will give you the direction to walk in, the markers you seek may be one or several rows away in that direction though all are a relatively short walk and can be seen from the row you are currently in, so if you end up a mile away and still haven't found the marker, odds are you missed something and need to back up.

Step 1: Start with "one who flies" closest to the gate.

Step 2: Facing #1 find Delia a few rows ahead of you.

Step 3: Facing Delia, turn to your right and look up the hill. See the tall, white marker? Head there.

Step 4: With the hill to your back and facing #3 turn to your left. Head to George who I'll just bet is a relative of the "famous peanut farmer".

Step 5: With #4 to your back, head to the marker "shaped like a square turned on it's side" ahead.

Step 6: Facing #5 walk to "the book".

Step 7: Facing #6 look ahead and to the right. What you seek is near "what used to name the spot".
