This cache is a short distance along the Mill Trail, a property protected in 2003 by the Stowe Land Trust. To get to the trailhead from Vermont 108 in Stowe, turn on Notchbrook Road and drive 0.6 miles to a small parking pulloff on the left, located at a sharp hairpin turn.
This property was the site of Sallies Farm from maps dated from 1840. It was the site of the Orlando Turner Saw Mill and Tub Factory. Two cabins exist on the property, most recently owned by the Lichtenthaeler family until the early 1900s. Stowe Land Trust has an interpretive brochure which you might want to look at before your walk to the cache.
For those who want to further explore the area, the Mill Trail continues from this point a bit further up to Bingham Falls.
