"The Quest for Dewey's Journal: a Geocaching
Adventure"
One day you stumble on a scrap of paper and take a second to read
it. It is an exert from a the journal of a guy named Dewey. The
scarp of paper gives you coordinates to "Dewey's House". You have
the desire to find the rest of his journal but you see that
"Dewey's House" is just to big. You noticed it is organized but
there is just too much "stuff" to find the journal. You flip over
the paper and it turns out it is a passage about how to locate the
journal. Here is what is says:
I installed a new security camera system today to protect my
"house". There is a secret combination to disable the security
cameras. Now if I could come up with a way to remember the
combination. Well I know I am looking to use numbers and I need to
remember them from left to right and since I might need to call
them I guess I will use their number to come up with the code. Well
since my favorite number is 8 I will use the 8th number. Then I can
easily remember to add the first two number together. Then since I
have three siblings I can use the three's location, period! Then I
can remember to add the 5th and 6th numbers together. Lastly I will
use my favorite number. Written by JOU....
That is it. The rest of the paper is ripped off.
The listed coords will take you to within 75 feet of the cache.
I wouldn't try to brute force it thou. You will never be able to do
it. But I guess it is possible it you want to take the time. By
reading the story you will have the the needed information to find
the cache. This cache is only available 9 - 9 Monday thru Thursday
and 9 - 5 Friday and Saturday. This cache is not accessible on
