Geocache Description:


Eine Klamm ist ein durch Erosion entstandenes Flußtal. Der abschmelzende Gletscher hinterließ einen Taleinschnitt, indem sich der Aschauer Bach in den hier anstehenden Ramsaudolomit eingeschnitten hat. Der Dolomit ist ein hartes und sprödes Gestein, das unter dem Druck der Gebirgsbildung zerbrochen ist. Es ist von unzählingen Rissen und Klüften durchzogen. Dort findet die Verwitterung durch Frostsprengung ihren Ansatz und lockert den Gesteinsverband auf. Die Hänge des Tales sind daher von einem Schuttschleier überzogen. Gelangt dieser Schutt in den Einflussbereich des Baches, wird er in Form von Geröll weitertransportiert. Die Aschauer Klamm zählt zu den hellen Schluchten. Durch das glasklare Wasser leuchten die Steine weiß bis hellgelb und färbt sich auch an tieferen Stellen nur hellgrün.

 Um den Earthscache zu loggen sende mir eine Email mit den Antworten zu folgenden 3 Fragen:
1. Wir groß ist das Geröll direkt nach der Klause?
2. Wie groß ist das Geschiebe nach der Einmündung des Ellbaches bei N 47 39.704 E 012 47.073?
3. Was befindet sich auf der Rückseite der Infotafel "Aschauer Klamm - im Naturschutzgebiet Aschau" am Rastplatz der Klause?
Mache ein Foto von dir und/oder deinem GPS in der Klamm und stelle es in den Log (Logbedingung)

A canyon is a river-valley formed through erosion. The outcome of the melting glacier was the river "Aschauer Bach". The degradation of the "Ramsaudolomit" formed a valley. Dolomite is a hard and brittle rock, which is broken under the pressure of mountain building. It is crossed by many cracks and clefts. Weathering by frost shattering breaks up the rock mass. Therefore the slopes of the valley are covered by a veil of rubble. This debris gets into the influence of the stream and had been transported in the form of boulders. The "Aschauer Klamm"-Gorge is one of the named "bright canyons". Through the crystal clear water, the stones shine white to light yellow color and also in deeper areas only light green.

In order to log this earthcache you have to send me a mail with the answers of the following 3 questions:
1. What size has the boulder just after the hermitage?
2. What size has the bedload after the confluence of the river "Ellbach" (N 47 39.704 E 012 47.073)
3. What is on the back-side of the info-panel "Aschauer Klamm - im Naturschutzgebiet Aschau" at the resting place of the hermitage?
Take a photo of you and/or your GPS at the gorge and upload it in the log (Logorder)
