Geocache Description:

This was the first time I had ever been on this portion of the beautiful Creeper Trail...and this was a gorgeous area! One can hike (or bike) through a corridor of paper bark birch, yellow poplar, maples, rhododendron and Eastern hemlocks here.

This small, waterproof container--with a logbook and tradeables--was placed near an interesting rock cut in the trail (no danger of rocks falling on you in the spot where it's placed!). I was trying to decide what kind of rocks were here; they didn't look like sandstone or shale---a lot of them had a purplish appearance, almost like rhyolite or diamictite. If you're into geology, let me know what kind you think these might be!

Further down the side of the bank, there is a peaceful-looking stream. I personally wouldn't advise going down the incline to reach it, since it appears to be on private property.

GPS accuracy on this cache was around 18 feet. BYOP because there wasn't room for one in this cache. Have fun...and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
