Geocache Description:


Trees of Alabama Series: Black Oak - (Quercus velutina). Deciduous hardwood found commonly in all regions of Alabama. The cache container is a small Lock-N-Lock. The acorn cap of a Black Oak covers half the acorn. The wood is commercially important and used for flooring and cabinets. Acorns eaten by game birds, deer, bear and many small mammals. There is a picture of a Black Oak and it's leaves on the cache log. Please return cache as found.
