Geocache Description:

Tidal Battery is another in the series of caches related to sailing and more particularly to racing sailboats.

Holywood Yacht Club has the distinction of being the sailing club which is the furthest up Belfast Lough. In fact they can not sail at all states of the tide as when out there is not enough depth of water outside the club. Hence the name. The Battery itself, from where the racing is controlled is the bay window on the front of the club with the stripe down the outside of the building. This line is the inner end of the start line and the outer end is the red bouy with the traffic cone on it!

Holywood YC is a small club but recently revitalised and growing. They are currently going through the process of becoming a Volvo Champion Club.

The cache is a 35 mm film canister hidden near to a cople of seats so sometimes too near to muggles. Cache is wheelchair accessable with a long arm. Club are aware of the cache but don't know the final location. Enjoy
