Historia:
La Hacienda de Quinto puede considerarse como la Hacienda mas
antigua de Dos Hermanas, resultado de la union de tres cortijos
colindantes; el de San Clemente o "de las Monjas", perteneciente al
monasterio de San Clemente de Sevilla; el Cortijo Nuevo, del
Cabildo Catedral de Sevilla; y el Cortijo Grande, cuyo propietario
era el Duque de Alcalá. Prueba de su antiguedad son los restos
Romanos, Visigodos, Arabes y posteriores hallados en sus
alrrededores y la cita del lugar de Quintos en el Itinerario de
Antonio, del siglo II. Asimismo existio un poblado entorno a este
conjunto, contando con iglesia y pila bautismal hasta 1690.
El Conjunto queda estructurado en dos construcciones, de una parte
los cortijos de San Clemente y Nuevo -zona de mayor interes
historico-, que forman una sdificacion y a unos metros, el Grando o
Viejo, del que unicamente permanecen algunos lienzos.
Sobresale en el recinto una torre almenaba, del siglo XII,
construida con fines militares, asi como molinos de aceite y la
torre de contrapeso, amén de tinajas y otras dependencias propias
de las labores agricolas desarrolladas en Quinto. El pasado
olivarero de estas y otras haciendas de la localidad, y el peso
especifico del sector de la aceituna de mesa ha contribuido a la
ubicacion en este lugar del Museo Provincial del Olivo, que reuna
las caracteristicas cinegraficas mas singulares de la tradicion
olivarera sevillana.
History:
The Hacienda de Quinto can be considered as the finance more
