Viking Treasure Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

guidothesquid: So after careful consideration, I have opted to archive this cache. To do what I'd like to do is just not feasible with the cleaning crew that comes through and willy-nilly throws things away while not noticing that the trees and shrubs are overgrown. Also, people like to not trade like for like so the cache gets emptied and the poor cacher who comes along expecting bounty on the theme is disappointed, and that's unfortunate. But it was fun whilst it lasted.

This Viking Treasure has gone to sea and was set on fire, as is tradition.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Viking Highlands neighborhood! Thar be history here!

This is a private park for the homeowners association. Permission has been given by the HOA president to place the cache. Feel free to enter and cache, but please be respectful cachers. :)

Regular camo container. Please tuck away... it's kind of exposed!

!!!PLEASE TRADE FOR LIKE ITEMS ONLY!!!
This is a themed cache; if you take all the items and don't trade, what's the point of the cache?

It's a little known "fact" that centuries ago when the Vikings sailed and ruled the seas of the North, one ship, after plundering the world, initially missed Britain.

Yes, one day after a hard week of plundering and those infamous Viking parties they slept in and gave it all a miss. When they finally awoke, many days later, they found themselves in what would eventually be called Puget Sound. Totally lost, hung-over, and befuddled, they soon founded Ballard, which explains a lot about Ballard. The original "Scandinavian" colony expanded and they stored their worldly money in a special location here in Shoreline, on the site of what is now the Viking Highlands neighborhood.

Go ahead. Look it up. It's all true*.

This cache is the present day remains of their plunder, a collection of strange bills and coins from far away lands. Should you find this cache, feel free to browse the currency, and take/trade as you wish. As the last in the long line of protectors of this sacred stash of cheddar (and I'm not even Scandinavian!), we only ask that if you take, you take in trade. If you have strange currency, add it and note it in the log! We love cool monies so keep it going! There's cool stuff here, check it out!!

This cache can also take geocoins and other similar things. Note, if you see someone hanging around and they have 2 big Bernese Mountain Dogs, we're not muggles! Say hello! Gigi already loves you.

* true = 102% totally false but funny and entertaining. 'Sup? Yeah buddy!
