Relive the hilarity that ensued with Brent, Lacey, Wanda, Davis, Karen, Oscar, and Emma!
There used to be another cache nearby from 2006 to 2009 (PS 210 Rouleau by rbl), but had been archived. The significance of this location is too great to go without a Geocache nearby, so we are proud to place our own all new cache here!
The filming of the series has ended after a run of six seasons, with the final episode airing in Canada on Apr. 13 2009. On April 6, 2009, Saskatchewan's Premier Brad Wall signed a proclamation making April 13th "Corner Gas" day in the province.
Since then, this set location had slowly been losing its splendour, as many of the outside identifying signs and props had either been removed or stolen. As of 2012, this set has been renovated and a souvenir store has been opened, where you can actually go inside the set of the station and the Ruby!
While in town, make sure to drive through town to see the buildings used as the FOO MAR T, Municipal Office & Police, Howler, Hotel & Bar, and others. A new series of caches has been placed by crackerjackie, which will take you through town to various notable locations seen on the show.
Newsflash! Just announced on May 20, 2014, they are going to produce a Corner Gas movie! Looks like they'll be filming again in Saskatchewan, very likely on the original sets too. Filming is set to start in June 2014, and slated for theares late 2014. This is pretty exciting news!
Cache was originally stocked with various Saskatchewan paraphernalia, and prizes for the first, second, and third to find. Everyone else, please trade even, or trade up!
There may be a constant stream of tourist muggles here on a nice day, so be sure to be patient and discreet when retrieving and replacing this cache! Thanks!
Congratulations to the first finders!
