Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. The posted coordinates mark Slushy's favorite bench. This is the starting point of his journey. You must follow along with the story to find the final. ********************************************************************* Slushy the snowman was sitting on his favorite bench watching the birds flying over Crooked Lake. A duck flew up and said "Hey Slushy, shouldn't you go find a colder spot to live? It's going to get pretty warm around here real soon." Slushy got to thinking and realized he was getting a bit more slushier than usual. He decided to go find a cool home to wait out the warm season. He got up from his favorite bench and headed away from the lake. He soon came to a paved path that branched out in many directions. He looked at all the options and decided the left most path looked best. This took him up a small hill, and then back down again. The paved path was really getting warm and slushy's feet were getting smaller and smaller. Just after the path split off, Slushy noticed a gravel trail across a wide paved path. Wondering where that might go, he looked around. He soon realized that this lead up to Moraine Knoll. Knowing that moraine's are from glaciers and glaciers are really cold, Slushy decided that this was just what he was looking for. Slushy crossed the wide paved trail and continued along the gravel trail. There was big log across the path that Slushy had to walk around. The trail seemed to end at a wide gravel trail. He could see the moraine knoll in front of him. He crossed the wide gravel trail and followed the right edge of the grass so he could stay out of the sun as much as possible. As he started walking up the knoll, he saw a play ground off to his left. That looked like a lot of fun, but he needed to find some cover quick. He walked a bit farther and saw a picnic shelter off to his left. There might be people there so he stayed away. Slushy then came to a picnic area with a couple grills. Knowing that grills can be hot, he kept them away on his right. He soon saw where the wide gravel trail curved around behind some pine trees. He headed up past the pine trees to the gravel turn around. That's when he noticed a fence ahead. He figured he better find a spot soon, so he looked into the woods. About 80 feet in, he saw a very large Oak tree with a hollow trunk. He crawled inside and fit very comfortably. He pulled some sticks to cover the opening and that's where he stayed. ********************************************************************** Please replace the cache as you found it.
