Geocache Description:

A short moorland hike to 314 m for some fantastic views.

Cnoc Fola (Bloody Foreland) is one of five main townlands which make up Gaoth Dodhair (Gweedore), the other townlands are Bunbeg, Derrybeg, Dunlewey and Crolly.

Gaoth Dobhair is officially the largest Irsih speaking parish in Ireland with a population of around 4,065. It is also home of the Northwest regional studios of the Irish language radio service RTE Radio na Gaeltachta.
Gaoth Dobhair sits in the shade of Donegal's tallest peak, Mount Errigal.

From the top of Bloody Foreland there are fine views to the Nand Eof Tory Island, Inishbofin and the long fine beach of the Dooey Penninsula near Magheraroarty.
The top of the hill is strewn with a collection of small cairns and other 'decorative' work.

There are no good tracks and you will have to select your approach. However, from the CP, head up the hill in the direction of the marker on the first crest and keep in line to the pallet gate crossing the fence line - after that you can choose how to get to the top.

There is room for 2 cars at the CP.

You will have to bring a pen/pencil with you as I forgot to leave one in the cache.SORRY.

Please put the cache back as found for the benefit of other cachers

P.S. don't forget the biscuit for the Headless Dog of Cnoc Fola.
