Geocache Description:

If you've been to Headen Park to find (the sadly archived) Headen Seek (GC1TE52) you'll be thrilled to know there's another round to play. At the Marjorie Headen lookout you can have a look for the next cache but be warned the hide is a little more difficult than the first round.

We've long thought this would be a good location for a cache as it's a place with great views, lots of hidey holes and it's not in a National Park. Well before we came to geocaching someone else had the same idea and placed a cache somewhere here. "Mystery Marj" (GCHP72) was archived some years ago after muggling. It's funny to read the description as no one really seemed to know who Marjorie Headen was! Even the council originally named it "Margaret Headen Lookout" - you can see where they've changed the lettering on the sign.

We are no closer to being able to tell you who she was and whether she is connected to Headen Park where our first cache is located.

Anyway to celebrate the 10th anniversary of geocaching in Australia, when the first Australian cache was placed at Lane Cove on 18 May 2000, we are dedicating this cache to all geocachers who do it to find fantastic places in the bush. This is one of them.

A word of warning, this does have a terrain rating of 4 and could go higher if you choose a different approach. Not for geokiddies under 8 years old or if you don't much fancy scrambling down and up rocky slopes.

This cache was placed on the 10th anniversary of the first cache placement in Australia.

While you're in the area have a look for our "Higgins Hidden Valley" series of four caches down below. I wouldn't recommend going straight downhill from here though but there's a fire trail entrance nearby in Wareemba Avenue.
