Long before we heard about caching, we still hid "things"
in
the woods on our hiking and camping trips. We wanted people to
take
a minute to stop and wonder.
Log only cache. Bring your own pen.
A nice cache for the family. Nothing hard or diabolical in this
hide!
If Only We Had Gnome
If only we had gnome about
caching back then—
The woods filled with swag and log books and pen . . .
Taking pixies of TBs and posting online,
Helping our elfs to treasures we find. . .
Imp-stead we hid pennies, in fences and rocks
And the occasional doll head for wonders and shocks!
All’s fairy in caching, and now our whole crew
Is goblin up finds and hiding them too.
This poem’s theme will give you the look
Of our container this time.
The end.
—(even though I’m determined to fit in the cool
word
“dryad” There—its in.).
