A Well Placed Cache along the "OLD ERIE CANAL STATE PARK"
We obtained Permit # OEC 17/05/10-17
We work with Ken Showalter, superintendent of The Old Erie Canal State Park when placing these caches along the canal.
Fresh water was needed for the mules and the canal men while they used the Old Erie Canal. Wells were placed along the way as the water in the Canal was stagnant and often polluted.
Our cache will bring you to one of these Wells, but please be warned, do not bushwack straight to the cache from the Parking Area because it will be a bit wet. These coords will show you where to turn in from the Canal Trail and head towards the cache: N 43 03.568 W 075 52.050
