Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Maynard Underbakke Trail forestry unit. It is a nice parcel of woodland located just north of Forestville State Park between Preston and Spring Valley. The trail loops its way through the woods and makes for a very scenic stroll. The parking area is located about half a mile south of Hwy 16 - signs on the road show where the entrance to the area is located. The parking area includes picnic tables and grills and campers can register to stay overnight!

The cache is located just off the trail - it is about 1.25 miles round trip to grab the cache, or about 2 miles to complete the loop. Pants and good shoes are probably a good idea. There are some great old oaks along near the cache location, as well as lots of woodland flowers! (there were lots of columbine blooming when I placed the cache). Be aware during the fall for hunting season, and be smart!

The cache is probably a smallish-regular, but definitely not a largish-small.

This cache meets all the requirements for a cache placed in a state forest.
