Geocache Description:

This is a quick cache, easily accessible from the NY State Thruway. It is located on a paved bike trail that is accessible from the overflow Park and Ride at the Utica Thruway exit. Please be careful to replace the cache exactly to prevent migration. The location was chosen to help keep the cache container from falling into the canal the way the trees have.

I hid this cache for my fellow dogs who are traveling with their people along the NY State Thruway. Some dogs are a bit frightened of big trucks and loud cars.I'm even a bit timid myself. I prefer to answer the call of nature in more serene surroundings than are found at Thruway Rest Stops. I wanted to make sure that people who travel with dogs know about this great spot to let their dogs to stretch their legs and take care of business.

I really like walking along the canal. There are lots of great smells and interesting sights. I've seen bikes, boats, and even some geese. I highly recommend this cache to all dogs. I think humans will like it too.
.
There are also many places for humans to eat at this exit. Some of them have outside seating in good weather which is nice for us dogs. There are also some places to stay over night, at least one of which is pet friendly.

Oh and I know some people think you should find lots of caches before you hide one but Team Taran helped me and she has found lots more than me.

I had to ask my person to hide this one this time, The tree I hid it in last time is gone. The new hiding place is not a safe place for dogs to try and find it. It's the lack of thumbs and we don't bend like people so if you are a dog ask your person to get it for you. You can watch out they don't fall in. Don't let your person climb down the bank. The cache isn't down there, at least it shouldn't be and it doesn't look like a safe thing to do. They might however find the two caches that have disappeared.
