Geocache Description:

Located in the beautiful White Mountains region of NH, the Rocks Estate is a Christmas tree farm owned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. The cache can be found near the Bee House, which was built for Mrs. Glessner, an apiarist.

The Rocks Estate was built by John Glessner in 1882. The following year the Big House, a 19 room mansion, was built with a spectacular view of the Presidential Range. 100 acres purchased by Glessner was once a self-sustaining farm with more than 13 building used for different purposes and hobbies.

Today the SPNHF protects 1400 acres. The land now incorporates a Heritage Trail, a Christmas tree farm, maple sugaring and more. Enjoy the scenic vista, trails, wildlife and the many seasonal programs they offer.
