Geocache Description:

Suggest you enter from north side of the bridge, parking available to east of location.

My 1st geocache and 1 of several I am placing in the western part of St Lucie County which is for the most part geocache free. This location has been a topic of conversation for the residents of St Lucie County for some time now. With the tough economic times it baffles me everytime I drive under it. This bridge literally serves no purpose and cost god knows how many millions of dollars to build. I've heard several different stories as to why it was built but had the pleasure to talk to a traffic engineer working on construction in the area and his explanation seemed the most reasonable. According to him, prior to the economy going down the drain, Six Flags had intentions of building a theme parking on the north side of this bridge. An agreement was made with the county to utilize the county fairgrounds as over-flow parking, thus the construction of this pedestrian bridge. BYOP
