Le barrage de Vallabrègues

Dernier ouvrage hydraulique sur le Rhône

Mise en service : 1970.
Production annuelle moyenne : 1,3 milliard de kWh.
Chute maximum : 13,50 m.
Puissance installée : 210 MW.

Situé entre l’aménagement d’Avignon et le Palier d’Arles, Vallabrègues, qui s’étend sur une trentaine de kilomètres, a été mis en service après 3 ans de travaux. Dernier aménagement avant la mer, il comprend trois ouvrages : le barrage de Vallabrègues, la centrale hydroélectrique et l’écluse de Beaucaire.

La production hydroélectrique de l’aménagement s’élève à 1,3 milliard de kWh par an, ce qui correspond environ à la consommation annuelle de la ville de Nice.

Lieu où le Gardon se jette dans le Rhône mais aussi un endroit insolite où les "Canadairs" de le Sécurité Civile viennent écoper lorsque des incendies se déclarent dans la région.

Placed between the arrangement(development) of Avignon and the Landing of Arles, Vallabrègues, which extends over around thirty kilometers, was put in service after 3 years of works. Last arrangement(development) before the sea, it includes three works: the dam of Vallabrègues, the hydroelectric power plant and the lock of Beaucaire.

The hydroelectric production of the arrangement(development) amounts to 1,3 billions of kWh a year, what corresponds approximately to the annual consumption of the city of Nice.

Place where the Roach throws(casts) itself into the Rhône but also an unusual place where the "Fire-fighting planes" of Civil Safety come to take the rap when fires declare themselves in the region.
