This is the second in my Stardust Memories series. Follow them and I will guide you to locations and points of interest relating to the history of the last mob owned casino in Las Vegas.

DO NOT park right at GZ- there is parking available across the street, but you must use your discretion and not park in marked spots. (A good thing to remember anywhere in Las Vegas)
Cache is Log only, BYOP. Please replace EXACTLY as/where found, and do not use stickers or the log will not fit back in the container. No bushwhacking needed- Please leave the plants alone
This cache will take you to the area that used to be the old Stardust Drive-In theater, and the Stardust Horsemen's Park. Both of these attractions sat on the west side of the former Stardust property.
The defunct Motor Vu theater was renamed the Stardust Drive-In and opened on March 20, 1959 showing Disney's The Shaggy Dog. It closed nine years later in December 1968 with a triple shot of gangster movies: The Scarface Mob, Young Dillinger and Pretty Boy Floyd.
The Stardust Horseman's Park was immediately north of the Drive In, running rodeos and horse riding events until 1972, when the land was taken to expand the hotels' "Camperland" parking.
The Stardust operated from July 2, 1958 until November 1, 2006. See my slideshow of the final days of this Vegas classic here:
